We are responsible at all levels of our operations.

Responsibility is part of our strategy
Responsibility is a key part of TAKU's strategy and it is reflected in all levels of our operations.
We take care of pursuing the mission and goals of our organization and managing it with sustainable methods of operation. We regularly measure the implementation of TAKU's impact and responsibility in the central areas of our operations and develop our operations agilely.
The values that guide the operation of our organization are vigilance, equality and responsibility. The cornerstones of our responsibility are:
- Social responsibility at the level of individuals
- Societal responsibility
- Environmental responsibility
- Economical responsibility

Social responsibility at the level of individuals
Relationship with members, cooperation network and personnel.
TAKU is responsible for its members –
- About the appropriateness of the activity
- About the effectiveness of the operation
- For equal treatment
We regularly ask for feedback about the events we organize. The common member survey is carried out every three years. In our events, we follow the Safe Space principle.

TAKU's operations are transparent and open –
- The action plan and the annual report are public.
- Regular meetings are open to all members (spring, autumn).
- Any of the members can stand as a candidate for TAKU's board.
- Board members are elected by voting.
- We operate based on the association's rules and association legislation, as well as the decisions of our board.
It's always nice to come to work –
- We work with personnel who are healthy and proud of their workplace.
- Extensive occupational health care, flexible working hours, the possibility of hybrid work and the development of one's own skills are the basis of (occupational) well-being.
- The possibility of using two hours of working time a week for exercise encourages you to refresh yourself.
The Equality Plan (DEI) serves as a framework for TAKU's social responsibility and accessibility
Societal responsibility
Mission, strategy and effectiveness
TAKU is the advocate of the working life of experts and supervisors in the art, culture and events industry. We aim for a society where the expertise of art and culture professionals is recognized and valued, and their rights in working life are in order, regardless of the form of work. (See more > How we make difference > Key advocacy points)
This is how we make an impact –
- We participate constructively in the social debate.
- We take a cautious and justified position.
- We take initiatives that promote our goals.
- We make good practices available to everyone through guides, recommendations and information sharing.
- We operate actively in cooperation, stakeholder networks and project work groups.
TAKU is a reliable partner that networks without prejudice and strives to face different actors openly.

Environmental responsibility
Environmental values play an important role in our organization and our goal is carbon neutrality. We have received the Green Office certificate from WWF. We often hold meetings and trainings virtual in order to save emissions from traffic. We recycle, save on materials and energy use and monitor the carbon footprint of our operations. We have preferred vegan food for almost 10 years in all our events.

Economical balance and appropriate use of the organization's funds
TAKU is a reliable organization operator, partner and employer whose finances are balanced.
With the income from membership fees, we create added value for our members not only through advocacy work but also through numerous services, trainings and professional events. Member services are free for members.
The members have the highest financial decision-making power in TAKU. Both the previous year's financial statements and the next year's budget are approved at association meetings open to all members.
Background of the membership fee model
TAKU's membership fee for salaried members is based on certain percentage. The decision is based on solidarity. This means that each member pays a membership fee in proportion to their income. The amount of the membership fee also lives with changing incomes and life situations.
