Open call for training program of creative and culture professionals – CreativeGPS
TAKU warmly invites practitioners from the Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS) in Finland to apply for the Baltic CreativeGPS training program, which will take place in autumn 2024. Application period is 15/08–15/09. Learn more and apply (in Finnish)!
The CreativeGPS training program supports creative and culture professionals in navigating their careers with greater awareness and a stronger strategic approach. The program focuses on building participants' capacities to manage their careers by developing essential soft skills and exploring entrepreneurial potential.
Three parallel programs will be launched in Finland, Latvia and Estonia. The programs will run independently but include joint sessions to enable peer learning across borders.
Applicants must be TAKU’s members in order to apply the Finnish program.
What will you learn during the program?
You’ll strengthen a versatile range of skills including self-reflection, strategic communication (about your skills & offers) and personal branding, recognizing relevant networks, hybrid work life skills and self-management, work life well-being and sustainability (time management, coping with stress, handling the potential rejections) as well as personal futures thinking (potential career paths, scenarios and your choices).
The experts in Finnish coaching program are Elsa Ervasti (performance coach, business development expert), Emmi Harjuniemi (brand strategist), Anna Jussilainen (solution oriented coach) and Laura Köönikkä (work community expert, work supervisor). Bootcamp content and experts will be published during the autumn.
Who is eligible to apply?
The program is designed for professionals in the arts, culture and creative sectors*. There will be 66 open participant positions all together, which entails 22 spots per country.
The CreativeGPS program is for you if you can relate at least one of these criteria:
- Are you involved in freelancing, self-employment, micro-entrepreneurship or part-time employment?
- Do you have multiple/unstable sources of income (low-income rates, under the threat of unemployment, or receiving state benefits)?
- Are you in the early stage of your career or in transitional career stage (e.g. returning from parental leave)?
- Have you faced difficulties in finding jobs that align with your skills (e.g. current work tasks do not match the level of expertise, or you are a creative practitioner currently employed outside of the CCS)?
Please note: the language in the program is Finnish (excluding the Bootcamp and one of the webinars). The applicants must have basic Finnish language skills to be able to take part in the program. The applicants for the Finnish CreativeGPS program must also be members of TAKU.
*Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS) include all activities based on cultural values or artistic and other individual or collective creative expressions. This includes tangible and intangible cultural heritage, design (graphic design, fashion design), event and other producing, festivals, audiovisual (film, television, video games, multimedia), music, literature, performing arts, visual arts, artistic crafts, architecture, libraries and museums etc.
How is the program structured?
The program will run from October until December 2024:
30.10. Kick-off, Helsinki (from 17 to 19)
5.11., 7.11., 12.11. & 14.11. webinar (from 16.30/17 onwards)
29.–30.11. Baltic BootCamp, Tallinna
11.12. Webinar/hybrid meeting, Helsinki (from 17 to 19)
The program is free for the participants. However, each participant is expected to cover one’s own travel costs to the Tallinn Bootcamp event (accommodation is provided on behalf of the coaching program) and the possible travel costs to Helsinki/ in Helsinki.
The application period is 15.8.–15.9. All applicants will be informed of the selections by the end of September 2024.
