Apply for the TAKUtuki prize with your thesis

The purpose of TAKUtuki is to strengthen the research and awareness of arts and culture sector and also to award students for their hard work.

The support is 1 000 €/work and it will be granted for two students. The application period is from  March 10th till April 7th 2021.

Who can apply?

TAKUtuki is available to all TAKU's student members and members who are currently working on their theses, which has been completed/will be completed between July 2020 and July 2021. You can apply with AMK/YAMK work from polytechnic or with an MA thesis from any university. The applicant must be a member of the TAKU or join the union before submitting the application.

Instructions

The application for TAKUtuki is sent via an online form. Attach a free-form application that is max. 6 000 characters long.

For the online application you need to also write a short summary (length max 1 500 characters). You can also mention if you have planned to continue working with the same topic on some level or have you been able to utilize your thesis in some other way.

The application deadline is 7. April at 23:45. You can submit an application in Finnish, Swedish or English.

The background information required:

  • University/institution
  • Your major/degree programme
  • Topic of the thesis
  • Name of the thesis supervisor

The application should address the following:

  • Main keywords
  • The importance of research topic for the field of academia and for TAKU
  • Research methodology
  • Timetable

Applications are evaluated anonymously. Please do not include your name or contact information to the application.

The supported works are selected based on the following criteria:

  • Relevant/original topic
  • Importance of the subject for the arts and culture sector
  • Clear format of the application
  • The work is ready or well advanced and the schedule is realistic

The grant admission

A group consisting of TAKU's board members is making the selection for awarded works and applications are evaluated anonymously. TAKUtuki recipients will be announced at the TAKU's spring seminar on Friday May 7th, 2021. TAKUtuki is paid in May. The recipients of the grant are contacted when the selection is made. The recipients will also be announced on TAKU's website and in the newsletter. The Board of TAKU has the right to decide to support only one work or leave the grant completely unallocated.

TAKU may use the chosen works its own communication (reference, promotion etc.), or on its website or in its newsletter with the appropriate source references. The previous TAKUtuki recipients you can see here: 2020, 2019 and 2018 (articles are in Finnish).

2.3.2020

The purpose of TAKUtuki is to strengthen the research and awareness of arts and culture sector. This year the support is 1 000 €/work and it will be granted for two students.  The application period is 2.3.–31.3.20.

Who can apply?

TAKUtuki is available to all TAKU's student members and members who are currently completing their thesis, which is completed/will be completed from July 2019 till end of June 2020. You can apply with AMK/YAMK work from University of Applied Sciences or BA/MA thesis from university. The applicant must be a member of the TAKU or join the union before submitting the application.

Instructions

The application for TakuTuki grant is sent via online application. Attach the non-formal application letter in pdf-format. The recommended length of the application letter is 1–2 pages (max. 10 000 marks).

For the online application you need to also write a short summary (length approximately one paragraph). You can also tell if you have planned to continue working with the same topic on some level or have you been able to utilize your thesis on some other way.

The application deadline is 31.3.20 at 23:00. You can submit an application in Finnish, Swedish or English.

  • Interesting topic
  • Importance of the subject for the arts and culture sector
  • Clear format of the application
  • The work is ready or well advanced and the schedule is realistic

The degree of the thesis will be taken into account in the selection for awarded works.

The Board of TAKU is making the selection for awarded works and applications are evaluated anonymously. The chosen people will be announced at the TAKU spring seminar 15.5.20. TAKUtuki is paid in May. The recipients of the grant are contacted when the selection is made. The recipients will also be announced on TAKU's website and in the newsletter. The Board of TAKU has the right to decide to support only one work or leave the grant completely unallocated.

Who can apply?

TAKUtuki is available to all TAKU's student members and members who are currently completing their thesis, which is completed/will be completed from July 2018 till end of June 2019. You can apply with AMK/YAMK work from University of Applied Sciences or BA/MA thesis from university. The applicant must be a member of the TAKU or join the union before submitting the application.

Instructions

The application letter (in pdf-format) for TAKUtuki grant is sent by e-mail to TAKUtuki@taku.fi. The recommended length of the application is 1-2 pages (max. 10 000 marks). The application deadline is 15.5.2019.

You can submit an application in Finnish, Swedish or English.

Make sure that you write down to your e-mail:

  • your name
  • your e-mail address
  • your phone number

Please do not write these down to your application letter because applications are handled anonymously.

TakuTuki is awarded for the second time

Apply for TakuTuki grant

The purpose of TakuTuki is to strengthen the research and awareness of arts and culture sector. The support is 250 € / work and in 2018 it will be granted for four students.  The application period is from 5.3.-16.4.2018.

Who can apply?

TakuTuki is available to all TAKU's student members and members who are currently completing their thesis or the work has been completed during 2017 or will completed by spring 2018 (till end of June). You can apply with AMK/YAMK work from University of Applied Sciences or BA/MA thesis from university. The applicant must be a member of the TAKU or join the union before submitting the application.

TakuTuki works as a motivation for completing the thesis or, for example, thesis' printing costs.

The application for TakuTuki grant is sent via non-formal online application. The recommended length of the application is 1-2 pages (max. 10 000 marks). The application must be sent by 16.4.2018 at 24:00.

You can submit an application in Finnish, Swedish or English.
